Lying in the heart of the dramatic Dolomites, Val Gardena is famous for its World Cup ski races and Selva is the best known resort in this area, also known as the South Tyrol, with access to much of the Dolomites Superski area as well as the Sella Ronda - a 26km circular tour with well groomed pistes and modern efficient lift systems. The area has extensive snow making facilities, ensuring excellent cover throughout the season. The village is enchanting with traditional Austrian style architecture.
In Val Gardena there are numerous bars and the atmosphere is always lively and informal.

In Selva novices will enjoy excellent gentle nursery slopes on both sides of the valley. After a few days the long well groomed runs at Col Raiser can be enjoyed.
The region features unsurpassed skiing for intermediates both in the immediate area and with the link on to the Sella Ronda. With over 175kms of skiing in the Val Gardena intermediates have an enormous range of pistes to choose from.
Val Gardena is part of the Dolomiti Superski area which covers 464 lifts and 1,220kms of pistes, many of which are interlinked. Ski the Men's World Cup course in S. Cristina at full tilt or try, with a guide, the amazing Val Mezdi' off-piste route down to Colfosco or the incredible Pordoi Gulley.
This area has something up its sleeve for everyone. Freeriders should check out the windlips, natural banks and trees that areas like Pordoi have to offer. Freestylers will not be disappointed by the boardpark at Selva. This is also a beginners heaven, the runs above Ortisei are ideal for first timers.
